DMG Heavy Industries has achieved a significant milestone in the ongoing rehabilitation of the historic MV Liemba with the successful delivery of two new main engines to Kigoma, Tanzania.

The engines were delivered alongside key propulsion components including the gearbox, silencer, and reduction gear.

The project, which commenced in July 2024, has now reached over 64% completion and is on track for its scheduled completion in July 2026. Upon completion, MV Liemba will resume passenger and cargo transport services on Lake Tanganyika, having been out of service since 2018.
